I had the pleasure of catching up with an old college friend over the phone this evening.
She said something that made me think. She said I kept diminishing my musical skills in the conversation. I said to her, “Wow, really? Because you caught me on a good day!”
I was right though, I am improving when it comes to putting myself down. Now I actually have the confidence to try music again, which is miles away from where I was this time last year. Also, this friend o’ mine seems to have an unbeatable ambition and can’t seem to understand how I could have such a low view of what I do.
She was telling me some of the things she’d started doing, and the experience she got, but you can tell at every stage that she’s not looking to stay where she is, but to use each experience as a spring board. She’s very clever. If/when she gets her own site, I’ll be sure to link to her, whatever it is she’ll be doing!
It was an interesting conversation, albeit exhausting. It’s so hard to remember and express everything that’s happened to me in the past three years! It’s clear I need to keep in touch with people more frequently…
